Suhaili in SKIN

Homegrown performing arts company TerryandTheCuz’s SK!N is not your typical dance show. If you caught it last year at the George Town Festival in Penang, when it was still a work-in-progress, you’ll know what we are talking about.

SK!N, which is energised by raw, unconventional and thought-provoking themes, is arguably a contemporary arts performance that pushes further than most. Presented by TerryandTheCuz and Ashley Dyer, an Australian-based choreographer, SK!N aims to spark a multi-faceted, empathetic but critical response to human trafficking.

The show takes the audience into the world of human trafficking through an experiential journey which is both engaging and insightful, culminating in a dance performance.

For its full-length debut, SK!N plays at the Art Printing Works, Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur from Aug 9 to 13. The performers are Suhaili Micheline, Wong Jhy Shyong and Lee Ren Xin, who worked together with Dyer, to create the show’s dance piece. There will be two performances each night (7pm and 10pm). Each performance lasts for approximately 90 minutes and accommodates a maximum of 70 audience members.

The show will also feature at the Oz Asia Festival in Adelaide, Australia from Sept 28 to Oct 1.
